How to become a HUB?
PRIMARY HUBS:
Make his mailruns via The Toolkit
Carry all Conference
Distribute the Network's Archive Files
Provide daily (or more frequent) mailruns
SECONDARY HUBS:
have all of the above as options.
Primary Hubs will recieve a series of network ID's and be responsible
for maintaining that list. Each series will be in 1000 value blocks.
No more than 9 such HUBS will be formed and preference will be given
to boards in specific geographic regions. This ability will allow any
new node to get started via a nearby servicing HUB.
Geographic preferences. The United states is to be divided into a
2 by 3 Matrix consisting of North/South and West, Central and East.
Their ID Blocks will be:
0-999 Toolkit BBS (Master Hub)
1000 N E New England and Mid Costal
2000 S E Southeastern states
3000 N C Northern Midwest
4000 S C Southern Midwest
5000 N W Northern Pacific/Mountain
6000 S W Great Southwestern
7000 East Canada
8000 West Canada
9000 Foreign
They will assign ID's to hubs that echo through them using the 100's blocks
available. If need be subseqent HUBS will get assigned the 50's subset
above the initial hundreds breaks. As an example:
A node ID of:
1100 would indicate a seconday hub echoing via the primary NE hub
1101 would be one of the above hub's nodes.
If the HUB grew beyond nine subordinate hubs, he would issue n050 etc.
for new hubs--going to a 50 break
